Smeal Student Diversity Award
Recognizes a Smeal student for leadership in an individual group project that furthers diversity efforts at the college.
2014 Award Recipient: Fuad Ligali '14 Actuarial Science
Fuad Ligali will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science. He has served as president of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) for the past two years. His passion has been to empower his fellow members and help them build their confidence and professional skills in order to gain job opportunities. This past May, he traveled to Egypt with eight other students and two professors, and hopes to continue traveling to many other countries after graduation. Ligali has completed two actuarial exams, and will begin his career with Prudential Financial in July. He plans to obtain his FSA designation within the next five years, so that he can return to school and earn his MBA. Ligali is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
