Each year, various departments and units at the Penn State Smeal College of Business host conferences that connect students, faculty, staff, and alumni to top-level business people in their fields and to each other.
Partners in Business Ethics Symposium
The college proudly hosted the 6th Partners in Business Ethics Symposium Nov. 7-8, 2017, first launched and co-hosted by Smeal and American Express in 2010. Deans from the nation’s leading business schools, corporate leaders, and ethics experts attended to work together to promote avenues for speaking up in businesses and the business school environment.
Powerful Women Paving the Way
The Powerful Women Paving the Way conference bridges students and professionals in a celebration of women in business. This professional development and networking opportunity provides inspirational perspectives from accomplished leaders, issues-based insights and applicable knowledge, and connections that will last a lifetime.
Smeal Citizenship Conference
The Smeal Citizenship Conference brings together Fortune 1000 companies and more than 1,500 students to connect and learn about sustainability, integrity, and corporate social responsibility. It is sponsored by students in Net Impact, whose focus is the intersection of business in regard to sustainability and social responsibility.
S.T.A.R.T. Conference
The S.T.A.R.T. Conference, or Striving Toward Awareness and Respect for Tomorrow, focuses on business issues in diversity through connecting industry, academia, and the community. The conference provides students with an opportunity to network with corporate representatives, explore career paths, and gain insight into the corporate climate of presenting companies.
Executive MBA Women's Leadership Forum
The Women's Leadership Forum, presented by the Penn State Smeal Executive MBA Program, provides area businesswomen with a platform to talk about issues facing them in the business world today. Participants are offered an opportunity to network and to think creatively about the future of their careers.
