Student Diversity Award
Recognizes a Smeal student for leadership in an individual group project that furthers diversity efforts at the college.
2019 Recipient: Gina Uyen Mi Nuyen '19 Marketing
Gina Nueyn is a senior majoring in Marketing and double minoring in Digital Media Trends and Analytics and Supply Chain & Information Systems. She was the president of Ascend: Pan Asian Leaders student organization her sophomore and junior years. In her role as president, Nuyen promoted professional development within the Asian and Asian-American student body at Smeal. She was also active with the Council of Multicultural
Organizations (COMO) and collaborated with other COMO organizations to improve diversity relations within Smeal. Currently, Nuyen is spending her senior year working at Saxbys, the student-run experiential learning café in the Business Building.
