Smeal Alumni Clubs

The Smeal College of Business is home to several alumni clubs. Smeal alumni clubs facilitate a variety of business and educational events throughout the year, an opportunity to stay connected with former classmates, and an inside look at the Smeal College of Business as it aims to advance as one of the top public business schools in the nation. Smeal currently has clubs in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, NYC, Washington, D.C., and State College. Join a club near you!

Smeal Minority-Owned Business Network

The mission of the Smeal Minority-Owned Business Network is to promote underrepresented and underserved Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) owned businesses to the Smeal and Penn State alumni networks and Penn State Supplier Diversity for participation in the university’s procurement program. Smeal Sustainability Alumni Network

The Center for the Business of Sustainability collaborates with Smeal Alumni Relations to support alumni with an interest in leveraging business for positive social impact.  Specifically, we have created the Smeal Sustainability Alumni Network (SSAN) which serves Penn State alumni who have a personal or professional interest in sustainability through business and the marketplace.

Keleigh Asbury, Director

Keleigh guides the vision and strategy of the college’s alumni career programs with a balanced approach through 21st-century business and traditional higher education practices. Her experience in multiple industry sectors in the U.S. and Canada has brought a dynamic approach to her work in sales & marketing, career coaching, corporate recruiting, and business development. Keleigh received a B.S. in Health & Human Development, a professional certificate in Leading in Complex Organizations, and is currently a graduate student in the Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIENT) program, all at Penn State; she also holds an MBA in Marketing from Argosy University, Denver. She loves outdoor sports and activities and supporting the local food movement in her community.

Jennifer Nicholas, Assistant Director

Jennifer manages the alumni career coaching program to deliver 1:1 customized coaching support bolstered by employer engagement.  She draws from her background in training, facilitation, and coaching to help people strategize the next steps and tailor career stories to their aspirations.  Her qualitative research on employability has been published in the Journal of Vocational Behavior and the Journal of Education for Business.  Jennifer has a B.A. in Human Development and Social Relations from Earlham College, an M.A. in Adult Education and Training from Seattle University, and a Ph.D. in Workforce Education and Development from Penn State.  She is also a certified Global Career Development Facilitator and trained in mediation by the Center for Alternatives in Community Justice.  Outside of work, she is dedicated to raising teen and tween boys.

Cindi Satterfield, Senior Programs Manager

Cindi develops and manages virtual programs and social media campaigns for the department and its constituents. In this capacity, she partners with alumni and faculty as webinar presenters stay current on business trends through research and connects with alumni by sharing their career stories throughout the Smeal network. Cindi manages the department’s internship program as well as the college’s chapter of the Beta Gamma international business society. Her professional experience includes being a part of a seven-person entrepreneurial team that expanded its startup internationally and successfully took the company public. Cindi attended West Chester University and received an associate degree from Keystone School of Business. She received a social media marketing certificate through the company Hootsuite.

Doreen Glenning, Career Coach

Doreen is a high-impact business generalist with over 25 years’ experience in leading teams through operational challenges. She was trained in Corning Inc., a Fortune 500 company where she gained experience in business development, customer relationship management, career counseling, and recruiting. Doreen earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY, and started her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Corporate Taxation.  Here at Smeal as a career coach, Doreen is leveraging her business experience to create strategic job search plans for alumni, including resume development, interview preparation, and skills assessment. In her spare time, Doreen enjoys traveling and walking her golden retriever, Roxy.
