2018 Award Recipient: Brian C. Drury '12 Supply Chain

Brian Drury began his career at Kimberly Clark as an export analyst on the International Export team, with a goal of eventually being able to travel and see more of the world. After 2 years with the company, he accepted a dream job to work with VF Corporation, the largest footwear and apparel manufacturer in the world. As a supply chain internal auditor, he traveled to 14 different countries, spent 5 months living in Brazil, and worked with North Face, Timberland, Vans, Wrangler, and more to improve supply chain processes around the world. In 2015, Drury started his own company, Overcoming Graduation LLC. After seeing the challenges recent grads face and experiencing them himself, he created this company to teach people everything he wished he’d known to help them progress to the next level in their own lives. The company has grown to include the Overcoming Graduation podcast, coaching services, a full-length novel, and information products, such as one designed to explain the process to learn a new Latin-based language in 90 days or less. All proceeds from the first 3 months of sales and 10% of every book sold after that for his debut novel, The First Step, were donated to an organization called myTEAM TRIUMPH, which helps individuals with disabilities participate in endurance events through the power of team athletics. Most recently, Overcoming Graduation arranged a holiday fundraiser to serve kids with cancer and children in pediatric wards. The event raised over $3,000 for children and their families. Drury recently accepted a new role at Vans working as a footwear planning analyst and is continuing to work to expand the impact of Overcoming Graduation. Outside of work, one of his greatest passions is dancing and teaching Latin Dance, specifically Cuban Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and Kizomba. With his new role, Drury has relocated to Southern California in Orange County.
