Gioia named Penn State distinguished professor

Penn State has named Denny Gioia, Robert & Judith Auritt Klein Professor of Management, a distinguished professor. The title recognizes outstanding academic contribution to the University. The Penn State News story includes a complete list of the 21 new distinguished professors for 2022.

EMBA student’s company helps financial professionals of color

Penn State Smeal EMBA student Dana Wilson launched Changing How Individuals Prosper, a B2B financial services marketplace that makes it easy to find Black and Latinx financial professionals, in 2019. Read the story.

Linderman quoted in Quartz

Kevin Linderman, chair of the Supply Chain and Information Systems Department and John J. Coyle Professor in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, was quoted extensively in a story titled “2021 was the year supply chain managers became cool.” Read the story(subscription required).

Registration open for Executive Insights with Mohammed Mijindadi

Mohammed Mijindadi, the president of GE Nigeria, will be the first Executive Insights guest of the spring semester. Mijindadi, a Smeal MBA graduate, will engage in a moderated discussion via Zoom at noon Friday. He was featured on the cover of the fall 2021 issue of Smeal Magazine. Remember, online registration is required. A registration slide is available for faculty who wish to remind students of the need to register. The slide includes a QR code students can scan that takes them straight to the registration site.

Don’t feel well? Play it safe, stay home

We applaud the efforts of our Smeal Community in rallying to meet our staffing demands to ensure excellent customer service. However, in this season of cold, flu and the omicron variant of COVID-19, we ask that you err on the side of caution when you don’t feel well. The University offers health guidelines on what to do if you feel sick.
