The Center for Supply Chain Research® (CSCR®) continued to strengthen its impact by hosting several robust networking events. These events are designed to empower the global supply chain community to share insights, forge strategic partnerships, and collectively elevate industry standards. CSCR’s commitment to fostering a collaborative environment is demonstrated through two cornerstone networking events: the Supply Chain Leaders’ Forum and the Supply Chain Talent Development Symposium.
The Supply Chain Leaders’ Forum is an engaging event where industry professionals converge to address emerging trends, share innovations, and explore solutions to complex challenges facing modern supply chains. This past year, CSCR held both fall and spring forums, with each event centered on topics of critical relevance. Highlighted by supporter organizations as crucial to navigating today’s evolving business landscape, the forums’ topics featured supply chain analytics and agile supply chain management.
In addition to the Supply Chain Leaders’ Forum, the Supply Chain Talent Development Symposium provides an opportunity for supply chain leaders to dive into the latest trends shaping the talent development landscape. Held in spring 2024, the talent symposium explored topics ranging from strategies to address talent gaps to employee development programs and approaches to nurture soft skills in today’s professional environment.
Supply Chain Analytics
Supply chain analytics is essential for businesses to gain insights into their operations, make data-driven decisions, and stay competitive in today’s complex global market. As supply chains become increasingly data-rich, analytics provide the actionable intelligence necessary to enhance performance, mitigate risks, and foster resilience in an unpredictable landscape.
On October 10, 2023, CSCR hosted the fall 2023 Supply Chain Leaders’ Forum on the topic of Supply Chain Analytics. The forum’s sessions discussed such topics as how demand forecasting can benefit a firm, the impact of AI and Machine Learning, and case studies from leading companies on how they’ve tapped into data-driven insights to solve complex supply chain issues. During the five sessions led by six supply chain experts, participants learned about emerging technologies and methodologies that are driving change and resilience across global supply chains.
Agile Supply Chain Management
Supply chain agility has become critical in modern supply chain management, allowing organizations to adapt quickly to disruptions, shifting market demands, and evolving customer expectations. In today’s volatile environment, agile supply chains are more resilient, enabling companies to pivot rapidly in response to supply shortages, logistical bottlenecks, or sudden demand surges.
On February 28, 2024, the Center for Supply Chain Research (CSCR) hosted the spring 2024 Supply Chain Leaders’ Forum on the topic of Agile Supply Chain Management. The forum gathered industry experts, thought leaders, and professionals to explore the latest strategies, innovations, and best practices in agile supply chain management. Featuring four leading experts from different companies, the event fostered dialogue around how 4PLs can sustain success in the face of chaos, how technologies enable the autonomous warehouse, how disaster relief supply chains operate, and how to cultivate relentless supply chain agility.
Supply Chain Talent Development Symposium
In today’s rapidly changing landscape, organizations face numerous talent challenges, ranging from shifting demographics to increasing complexity and resource scarcity. One of the predominant hurdles is identifying effective strategies to bridge skill gaps and address key vacancies within the workforce. The Center for Supply Chain Research (CSCR) aims to help organizations address trending topics in supply chain talent through our biennial Supply Chain Talent Development Symposium.
Held on April 16, 2024, the Supply Chain Talent Development Symposium provided organizations with the knowledge and tools to make an immediate impact. During the five sessions led by experts in the supply chain and talent industries, the symposium engaged participants on the latest trends and strategies in the talent development arena, including the evolving motivations of the current talent pool, strategies to foster up-skilling and re-skilling opportunities, and approaches to develop soft skills for employees.
