Briana is entering the S.T.A.R.T committee for the first time as a graduate student. She is a graduate assistant at the Diversity Enhancement Programs Office and is currently enrolled in the Management and Organizational Leadership graduate program. She was involved in several event-planning committees during her undergraduate experience and is looking forward to collaborating with the 2022 S.T.A.R.T team.

This is Sam’s first year on the START committee. He is currently a freshman in the Smeal College of Business and intends to major in Management Information Systems. Sam also intends to pursue a minor in Information Sciences and Technology. 

  

Lauren.jpgLauren Lohman

Lauren is returning for her second year with the START Committee. Lauren is currently a senior in the Smeal College of Business who will be receiving a Bachelor of Science in Marketing this spring. Aside from the START Conference, she has been a member of Delta Sigma Pi’s Professional Business Fraternity since her sophomore year. This past summer Lauren spent her time working with KeyBank as a Retail Banking Intern.

Samiyah enters the START committee for her first year. She is currently a freshman majoring in Accounting with a minor in Supply Chain & Information Systems within the Smeal College of Business. Samiyah is a life-long Girl Scout and is gearing up for a summer internship with the WSDA internship for Finance and Accounting.

Lawrence McKenny is entering his first year with the START Committee. He is currently a Junior studying Supply Chain and Information Systems within the Smeal College of Business. Lawrence also serves as treasurer for the Penn State Esports Club and is a member of the Supply Chain Management Honor Society.

Paul joins the S.T.A.R.T. committee for the first time this year. He is currently a graduate student in the Management and Organizational Leadership program offered at Smeal. Paul is also a graduate assistant with Diversity Enhancement Programs. He hosts monthly Council of Multicultural Organization meetings and has actively sought out preparations for this ​year's conference. He is excited and eager to join the team and experience his first S.T.A.R.T. conference. 

 

Ayesha Patel

Ayesha Patel and she is a new member to the START Committee. She is a junior majoring in Management in Smeal College of Business and minoring in Entrepreneurship in the Hospitality cluster. Ayesha is also involved as a Dancer Relations committee for THON and part of the Everyday Benefitting THON organization too. Ayesha is also the service chair for the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association and is the Co-Director of Marketing for the Assistance in Transition to University Park (ATUP) for students participating in the 2+2 program. She is excited to be a Store Management Intern this summer at Kohl’s.

 

 

Hugh Stewart

Hugh is engaging in the START committee for the first time as a second-year student. He is currently a sophomore in Management within the Smeal College of Business. Hugh is also a member of the Raw Aesthetic Movement (R.A.M) Squad, PSU Powerlifting Club, and a distinguished member of the Professional Management Association. Hugh hope on becoming more involved in Smeal's Diversity Enhancement Programs and making a meaningful contribution to enhance the diversity and inclusion initiatives of Smeal.

Alex returns to the START committee for the third consecutive year. He is currently a senior majoring in Supply Chain & Information Systems within the Smeal College of Business. Alex is involved with Smeal’s Diversity Enhancement Programs and interned for the past two summers with Bechtel Corporation, specializing in procurement and contracting. Alex will be starting his new role in the Operations Leadership Development Program with Lockheed Martin upon graduation in May.
