Jeff Ellis '98 is a New Jersey-based Audit Partner of Deloitte & Touche LLP where he serves as a lead client service partner, engagement quality reviewer, and advisory partner for multinational and emerging growth companies in the Life Sciences industry.  Jeff also leads the U.S. and Global Life Sciences Audit practice and is Deloitte’s Life Sciences Industry Professional Practice Director.  In these roles, he is responsible for establishing strategy, consulting with engagement teams on industry-specific accounting and auditing matters, communicating emerging issues, and facilitating the management of risk.

Jeff was previously the Deputy Professional Practice Director for Deloitte’s New Jersey commercial audit practice and spent time as a partner in the firm’s national office in Connecticut.  Prior to rejoining Deloitte in June 2009, Jeff was a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and previously worked with Deloitte’s Global IFRS and Offerings Services practice where he assisted foreign private issuers in Europe and Latin America with their application of IFRS, US GAAP and the SEC’s rules and regulations.  

Jeff is a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the recipient of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants Gold Medal Award on the May 1999 CPA examination.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University.

Jeff is married with three sons and currently serves on the board of directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Greater Pittsburgh.
