Connecting the Classroom and the Financial World

The Rogers Family Trading Room is an advanced learning laboratory that offers Penn State students from all levels access to software for risk modeling, interactive trading simulations, and an extensive array of financial data.

When the Trading Room was established in 2001, Smeal was among the first business schools in the nation to invest in such a unique learning environment. Since then, it has become home to Wall Street Boot Camp, the Nittany Lion FundLeveraged Lion Capital, and numerous other student organizations. Courses taught exclusively in the Trading Room include FIN 414 (Financial Trading and Applications) and FIN 415 (Advanced Financial Modeling). Other Smeal courses use the Trading Room throughout the semester for lab sessions.

The Trading Room has greatly benefitted from the generous contributions from David and Patricia Rogers and many others who are listed on the wall just outside the room.
