Smeal MBA Sustainability Case Competition
Engaging hundreds of students from the nation’s top business schools, Smeal MBA Sustainability Case Competition has featured social enterprises like the fintech firm CNote and large multinationals like PepsiCo. Students get a unique opportunity to wrestle with a real-world, contemporary business challenge, interact with industry leaders, and compete for prize money.
Undergraduate Sustainability Case Competition
The Smeal College of Business is working with partnering schools to organize the second annual Undergraduate Sustainable Business Case Competition Spring 2022. The case will focus on Covid-19 and issues associated with vaccination. Registration opens on January 28, 2022.
Student Sustainable Business Conference
The Smeal College of Business and Net Impact team up to host the Student Sustainable Business Conference, the biggest student-run sustainability event of the year at Penn State. Our goal is to create opportunities for professionals and students to connect, discuss, and amplify the growing and essential business of sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and ethics.
Speaker Series

Penn State University also offers the Sustainability Showcase, a weekly speaker series featuring scholars, educators, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives.
Symposium on The Changing Faces of Business Law and Sustainability
The COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and public protests for social justice—as well as a whole host of other emerging risks and threats to the environment and society—raise newfound questions about the appropriate role of law in promoting sustainable and broad-based value through business. The Symposium on The Changing Faces of Business Law and Sustainability is dedicated to exploring how business law can enable solutions to sustainability challenges that accord with the rule of law, fairness, and equity.
