Scholarship Opportunities
Each year, our students have the opportunity to apply to nationally recognized scholarship programs. We are pleased to announce that the R. Gene and Nancy Richter Foundation has selected six recipients for the 2022 Richter Scholarship. Three of the honorees are Smeal College of Business’s very own: Katie Cocco, Maria Karamanos, and Caden Hazenstab – all supply chain and information systems juniors – in addition to Abaan Kermani from University of Maryland, Jenna Murphy from University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and Syed Zaidi from Michigan State University. Scholarship Programs
MIT Supply Chain Excellence Scholarship
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Supply Chain Management Program has partnered with Penn State Smeal College of Business Supply Chain and Information Systems to grant an MIT Supply Chain Excellence Award to the most outstanding graduating senior in Supply Chain. The award grants a tuition scholarship for the student’s use toward the MIT Supply Chain Management Master’s Degree Program. The application process is now open.
R. Gene Richter Scholarship Program
The R. Gene Richter Scholarship Program was established in 2004 by R. Gene and Nancy D. Richter. The purpose of the program is to identify the future leaders of supply chain management and fast-track those students into the profession through a program of tuition assistance, executive mentoring, junior mentoring and networking through presentation at the ISM International Annual Conference and participation in the ISM Power Conference a year after college graduation.
A Richter Scholar is a student who has:
- Attained High Academic Achievement
- Demonstrated Strong Leadership Ability
- High Ethical Standards
- Made A Strong Commitment to Pursuing A Career in the Field of Supply Chain Management
Traffic Club of Pittsburgh Scholarship
"The Club organizes educational, social and recreational events during the year and emphasizes its commitment to the transportation community through its annual award of merit-based college scholarships to students who have designated transportation, logistics, supply chain management or a related field as their major field of interest."
Inbound Logistics & APICS Scholarship
"The impact of logistics education on global business practice is profound, and Inbound Logistics Magazine wants to continue to support this achievement. To show our support, we are offering a $2,500 scholarship in conjunction with ASTL to one undergraduate student. To apply, students are asked to submit an essay on why they chose a logistics and supply chain career, and how they envision that career impacting the company they will work for, as well as the U.S. and global economy."
North American Van Lines Logistic Scholarship
