Undergraduate Education

At the undergraduate level, the Smeal major in marketing focuses on exploring the fundamentals and emphasizes the balance between traditional topics (sales, retailing) and recent innovations (marketing analytics, digital marketing). The major includes two specialty tracks in Business Development & Sales and Strategic Insights & Analytics. Students can build hands-on skills in these areas through our two organizations, Penn State American Marketing Association and Penn State Prime, as well as through connections with our research centers. Current and prospective students should visit the Academics & Advising website for additional resources including career information, current events, and relevant departmental links.

"There are so many different avenues you can take with a marketing degree, especially when you have an overall understanding of business."
