Degree Programs

Information about degree programs in management at the Penn State Smeal College of Business.


At the undergraduate level, the Smeal Management and Organization Department offers two majors in Management and Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

  • Management: The Management major provides students the knowledge and skills required of managers to deal with contemporary challenges, including leading and motivating people; decision making; developing strategies for competing in the global economy; balancing interests of multiple stakeholders in complex, legal, political, and ethical environments; and leading change.
  • Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship: The Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship major is designed for students interested in managing innovation, re-inventing current businesses or starting up new businesses, with the intent of growing the economy and providing jobs for a diverse workforce.


At the graduate level, Smeal offers a full-time, resident MBA Program with various concentration options including innovation and entrepreneurship and strategic leadership. The college also offers coursework through the Smeal Executive MBA Program in areas such as leadership and management, as well as an emphasis in Management and Organization through the Smeal Ph.D. Program.
