On October 20,  two Penn State Alumnus, Doug Herold, MAI, of Intregra Realty Resources, and Larry Colorito, MAI, of Valbridge Property Advisors, spoke to a full auditorium of students interested in learning more about the valuation process of commercial real estate.

The panel was moderated by Smeal Real Estate Professor and Director of the IRES, Brent Ambrose, PhD. The panel covered different valuation methods across all sectors of commercial real estate. As Appraisers, Doug and Larry walked the students through the process of how they have conducted extremely complex valuations and what goes into the appraising process. They explained how the field has changed since they entered and discussed opportunities available to students who were interested in pursuing a career in commercial real estate valuation and appraising.

After the panel concluded, students were able to network with Doug and Larry, as well as other alumni who were in town for the weekend. An ice cream social encouraged the conversation to continue, as these students discussed job opportunities, and possible career paths they could take within the commercial real estate field.
