CSCR™ corporate sponsors, Unilever, Walmart, BASF, Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline, and Kimberly-Clark, have made the list of Gartner's 2016 Supply Chain top 25. Gartner releases their report of supply chain top 25 based on a platform for insights, learning, debate and contribution to the rising influence of supply chain practices on the global economy. The report looks at the concept of running a demand-driven value network (DDVN), customer-driven partner integration, as well as a series of calculations analyzing each company on certain criteria, while taking into account the importance of corporate social responsibility.

Congratulations to our corporate sponsors,  Unilever, Walmart, BASF, Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline, and Kimberly-Clark,on making the list of Gartner's 2016 Supply Chain top 25.

A common trend Gartner noticed about the top supply chains are the adoption of advanced analytics and an increased emphasis on corporate social responsibility. With the increases in technology and use of the cloud, companies are able to digitalize their replenishment and supply cycles, and according to the report, "generate better demand forecasts based on usage personas and to inform the design of new products entering the pipeline." Additionally, supply chains today not only need to be efficient, but they need to be socially responsible matching the growing expectation of investors, customers, and employees. “Mainstream institutional investors are paying greater attention to a company’s nonfinancial performance indicators, including its handling of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors,” said Mr. Aronow, research vice president at Gartner. “Supply chain executives should expect their organizations to become a bigger part of their company’s investor relations story as these stakeholders expand their awareness of ESG issues.”

For the first time, CSCR™ sponsor, Unilever, topped the ranking, coming in above McDonald's, Amazon, Intel, and H&M. Sponsors BASF and GlaxoSmithKline made the list for their first time this year as well.
