Supply Chain Finance Evolution in the Digital Era

Wednesday, October 13, 2021

The important role of financial flows in supply chains has been recognized alongside its peers of product and information flows. Supply Chain Finance (SCF) has notably evolved in the contemporary digital world both in terms of supply chain management impacts on a firm’s cash flows and the execution of financial transactions.  In fact, leading companies are leveraging digital technologies not only to enable a firm’s cash flows by, for instance, increasing sales, decreasing operations costs, and reducing assets, but also to improve the integration of financial transaction processes with supply chain partners (e.g., suppliers, customers, logistics service providers).  This Supply Chain Leaders' Forum explores the potentials and state of plays of digital technologies—notably the Internet of Thing (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and blockchain—in transforming SCF in both facets.
