Stephen Reeves '81 is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Enviva Holdings, LP in Bethesda, Maryland. Enviva is the world's largest supplier of utility-grade wood pellets to major power generators. Wood pellets allow utilities in Europe and Asia to profitably generate baseload power and meet their greenhouse gas emission and renewable energy targets. Reeves has responsibility for all aspects of finance at this rapidly growing firm as wel as oversight of the human resource and information technology functions. During his tenure with Enviva, Reeves participated in the negotiation and closing of a new senior secured credit facility, the first such facility of its kind in this nascent industry.

Prior to Enviva, Reeves spent fifteen years at The Black & Decker Corporation in a number of finance positions, culminating as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Black & Decker was a global manufacturer and marketer of power tools and accessories, industrial fasteners, and home improvement products up until its sale in 2010. Prior to Black & Decker, Reeves worked in the audit practice of Ernst & Young in Baltimore, Maryland.

Reeves has been active with Smeal for some time, including the recruitment of Smeal MBA graduates for Black & Decker and currently is a member of the Smeal "For the Future" Campaign committee. Together with his wife, Lyn Genetti Reeves '81 Comm, they established and funded the Stephen and Lyn Reeves Trustee Scholarship at the beginning of the current campaign and have recently established the Reeves Trustee Scholarship at the beginning of the current campaign and have recently established the Reeves Family Early Career Professorship and the Reeves Family Student Success Fund, both to benefit Smeal's Department of Accounting.

Reeves is the father of three children, one of which is also a Smeal graduate, and in his spare time is an avid golfer.
