William Donan ’68 received a bachelor of science in business administration/management from Penn State. He retired as the corporate vice president and president, Southeast region, of Allegiance Healthcare Corporation, an operating unit of Cardinal Health. He is presently a member of the Board of Directors of Sybron Dental Specialties, an NYSE listed company.

Donan is a past member of the Smeal College Alumni Society Board of Directors and was elected president of the board. He has been named a Penn State Alumni Fellow and was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus in 2006. In 1977, he established The William A. Donan Undergraduate Scholarship and in 2000 established The William Donan Minority MBA Fellowship Endowment. In 2001, he established the William Donan Endowed Professorship. In 1992, he delivered the commencement address for Smeal and in 2002 he delivered the commencement address at Penn State Abington.
