Smeal MBA Program Announces International Immersion Experiences
This coming spring, all first-year Smeal MBA students will travel to one of four cities around the world as part of the program's new Global Immersion component. Students will visit Lyon, Budapest and Prague, Singapore, or Chicago for exposure to business and culture in those regions. Supply Chain Management Professor Receives Fulbright Award
Alan Stenger, a professor in Smeal's Department of Supply Chain and Information Systems, has been selected for a Fulbright Senior Specialist Grant in Business Administration. Stenger will spend nearly a month demonstrating business logistics and supply chain management software, participating in research projects, and attending seminars and conferences at the University of Economics in Katowice, Poland. Smeal Alum & 'Most Powerful Woman' To Give Commencement Address
Patricia "Pat" Woertz, executive vice president at ChevronTexaco and a 1974 Smeal graduate, will present the undergraduate commencement address on December 20, as students from Smeal and several other Penn State colleges receive their degrees. Smeal Accounting Department Honors Deloitte, KPMG Executives
Anthony J. Buzzelli ('71 B.S.), managing partner of the Pacific-Southwest Region for Deloitte, and Bernard J. Milano, president and trustee of the KPMG Foundation, were honored by the Smeal Accounting Department in November with awards for Alumnus of the Year and Distinguished Friend of the Department of Accounting, respectively. Team Of Smeal MBA Students Advances To Finals In Case Study Competition
Four Penn State Smeal MBA students recently placed fourth out of 37 teams in the Chrysler-sponsored MBA Case Competition at the 25th Annual National Black MBA Association Conference in Philadelphia. The competition challenged students to recommend short- and long-range marketing strategies to wean consumers from zero-percent financing incentives and large cash rebates. Smeal Undergraduate Initiative Helps Families Coping With AIDS
The Professional Management Association, Business Roundtable, and several other Smeal student organizations recently worked with restaurants and taverns in State College to coordinate "PSU Night Out," a philanthropic initiative geared toward raising money for children and families living with AIDS. | Alan Stenger |
Professor of Supply Chain Management
With expertise in areas such as supply chain management, supply chain planning and design, inventory planning and management, and fleet sizing and scheduling, Stenger has taught a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses dealing with supply chains, logistics, and transportation. He joined the Smeal faculty in 1972 and has engaged in a wide range of educational and consulting activities both in the United States and abroad. This includes work with companies in the chemical, pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods, glass, information technology, and railroad industries.
