Smeal Among Top 25 In Business Research

In an updated study analyzing the research productivity of American business schools, Smeal ranks 24th overall in the country and 13th among public institutions, with five of the six departments in the college - Finance, Insurance & Real Estate, Accounting, Marketing, and Management - ranking in the top 20. Alumni Pledge Supports Construction Of New Smeal Building

New Book From Smeal College Professors Explores Social Networks

In "Social Networks and Organizations," Management faculty members Martin Kilduff and Wenpin Tsai offer a systematic and accessible approach to the latest thinking in social networks, a field that has steadily gained prominence in recent years. Smeal Research: Customer Loyalty Stronger Online

In a difficult economic environment for the travel industry, hotel operators seeking ways to leverage customer loyalty into future vacation seasons have a better chance of doing so through the Internet, and not through offline methods, according to a study coauthored by Smeal's Arvind Rangaswamy. Smeal Mourns Passing Of SCIS Faculty Member

Anthony Verstraete, faculty member in Smeal's Supply Chain and Information Systems Department, died suddenly on July 16, 2003, at the Hershey Medical Center at the age of 60. During his 23-year career with the college, Verstraete taught more than 10,000 students. Smeal Associate Dean To Receive Presentation Award

Russell Barton, Associate Dean for Research and Ph.D./M.S. Programs at Smeal, has been named Outstanding Presenter by a division of the American Statistical Association for his 2002 presentation, "Experiment Designs for Simultaneous Forward and Inverse Approximations." New Alumni Relations Director Joins Smeal

Ann Lehman, as the new Smeal Alumni Relations Director, will be the key liaison with the nearly 60,000 Smeal alumni. Before joining the college, Lehman was Manager of Marketing & Communications at Aris Corporation of America, a financial services company based in State College. CSCR To Welcome Logistics Leaders

Smeal's Center for Supply Chain Research will host its 13th Logistics Leaders Forum, entitled "Building Resilient Supply Chains, on September 2-4, 2003, at University Park.
