Smeal Among Top 25 In Business Research
In an updated study analyzing the research productivity of American business schools, Smeal ranks 24th overall in the country and 13th among public institutions, with five of the six departments in the college - Finance, Insurance & Real Estate, Accounting, Marketing, and Management - ranking in the top 20. Smeal Mourns Passing Of SCIS Faculty Member
Anthony Verstraete, faculty member in Smeal's Supply Chain and Information Systems Department, died suddenly on July 16, 2003, at the Hershey Medical Center at the age of 60. During his 23-year career with the college, Verstraete taught more than 10,000 students. | Dr. Russell Barton |
Dr. Russell Barton
Barton, Associate Dean for Research and Ph.D./M.S. Programs, joined the Smeal faculty in 1990 after three years teaching at Cornell University, where he earned his M.S. and Ph.D. Before returning to academia, Barton spent a decade in industry, primarily at RCA's David Sarnoff Research Center. During his tenure at Smeal he has partnered with a wide spectrum of industry sponsors in areas such as statistical process control, the design of experiments, and computer simulation.
