EXECUTIVE
PROGRAMS AMONG THE WORLD'S BEST
Penn State Executive Programs at Smeal College were ranked 12th
overall among executive education providers in the U.S. in the third
annual Financial Times' rankings of global non-degree executive
education programs. Penn State was ranked 3rd overall in the Big
10, and was ranked 22nd internationally. Learn more about the rankings

ASSOCIATE DEAN TAKES THE HELM
Smeal College recently welcomed aboard Dr. Christopher von Schirach-Szmigiel
as Associate Dean for Executive Education. Christopher's responsibilities
include creating and delivering new customized executive education
programs, and promoting the portfolio for educational programs to
customers. He has been at the forefront of knowledge management
for the global economy and was recently Director of Ericsson Corporation's
Management Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. Learn more about Christopher

MBA
GRADUATES ARE HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER
Smeal MBA graduates are securing permanent
positions in the workforce. Most of the MBA Class of 2001 had job
offers by June 15, 2001. Starting salaries increased with many students'
offers-including signing bonuses-reaching $90,000. In addition,
89 percent of the students seeking internships from the MBA Class
of 2002 have either accepted an internship or received an offer

LIONS FOOTBALL & LIONBACKERS
Join Dean Judy Olian and Smeal alumni for a management workshop
and football game in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Thursday, September
13. Sharpen your game, your leadership and management skills, for
the rapidly changing business environment. The activities begin
with lunch and a workshop conducted by Richard Dugan and Anthony
Buzzelli. These Smeal College alumni are highly successful corporate
and civic leaders and they will provide the coaching. In addition
to the workshop your registration fee includes, lunch, dinner, your
reserved seat game ticket, overnight accommodations, stadium shuttle,
