Austin J. Jaffe
Philip H. Sieg Professor of Business Administration
Jaffe is also director of the Institute for Real Estate Studies and the director of International Programs at Smeal. In the past year, nearly 350 Smeal students have participated in study abroad programs. Prior to coming to Penn State, Jaffe taught at the University of Oregon and he has also held faculty appointments at several international universities. Jaffe’s research interests lie in the areas of real estate financial analysis, the economics of property rights, the economic effects of legal institutions, the conceptual basis of property, and real estate computerization.

Struthers Delivers Commencement Address

Katz To Speak At Executive MBA Graduation

Sheehan To Head MBA Programs
Professor of Finance Dennis Sheehan has been named associate dean for MBA programs at the college. He will lead the academic and operational aspects of Smeal’s full-time MBA Program at University Park and its Executive MBA Program in Philadelphia. Academy Of Management Honors Entrepreneurship Paper
"A Scalable Problem-Based Learning System for Entrepreneurship Education," co-authored by Tony Warren, director of Smeal’s Farrell Center for Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship, will be published in the Best Paper Proceedings of the 2005 Academy of Management Meeting in August. The paper describes Penn State's approach and plans to open entrepreneurial instruction to large groups of students across the University and beyond. Jaffe's Teaching Inspires $500,000 Gift
Before he joined the Smeal faculty 25 years ago, Austin Jaffe, the Philip H. Sieg Professor of Business Administration, taught at the University of Oregon. His influence as a teacher in Eugene recently inspired a $500,000 gift to the university to help recruit and retain quality professors. Gedrich To Assume Alumni Board Presidency
