BONUSES BENEFIT DIVERSITY
Eleven members of the Minority MBA Association recently pledged part of their signing bonuses to the "Vernis Welmon Endowment For MBA Minority Affairs And International Programs. STUDENTS TAKE HONORS
A team of second-year Smeal College MBA students took first place in the 19th Annual Rutgers University MBA Case Competition, held April 7-9 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. And two teams of undergraduate students from Smeal College of Business and the College of the Liberal Arts placed second and third in the recent regional competition of the annual "HR Games." E-COMMERCE LAW TOPIC OF TWO NEW BOOKS
Two forthcoming books by John W. Bagby, Professor of Business Law, will provide an understanding of the major legal issues confronting cyberspace and e-commerce. Bagby authored "e-Commerce Law: Issues for Business," which integrates traditional law with the emerging law of cyberspace. In addition, Bagby co-authored the forthcoming, "The Legal and Regulatory Environment of e-Business: Law for the Converging Economy," with F. William McCarty of Western Michigan University. More than one million undergraduate students around the nation will receive their diplomas this spring, and enter the job market. RANKINGS UPDATE
The 2003 edition of U.S. News & World Report's "Best Graduate Schools" ranks the Smeal College MBA Program 43rd overall, tied for 18th among public universities. Accounting and Production/Operations management were ranked 22nd and 23rd, respectively, in their specialty areas.
