Research by a team of second-year MBA students has helped two Girl Scout councils representing girls in Pennsylvania and Maryland save money on the delivery of more than 2 million boxes of cookies this year. New Roles For Brokerage
There is little room for the role of traditional brokerage in an electronic environment, especially at the institutional level. But that will not mean the disappearance of brokerage intermediaries, according to research by Ian Domowitz, Mary Jean and Frank P. Smeal Professor of Finance and immediate past-chair of NASDAQ's Economic Advisory Board. New e-Business Laboratory
The new e-Incubator Laboratory, dedicated to the study, conduct and teaching of e-business in a multidisciplinary environment, will open in February. The Laboratory, which received support from an IBM Shared University Research grant, is part of Penn State's eBusiness Research Center (eBRC).
