Farrell Center Partnership to Study "Grass Roots" Corporate Innovation

Some of the best new business ideas reside with company employees. Well known examples are the inventions of Pampers diapers and Post-it Notes. Yet, it's surprising how few companies have established a systematic process for identifying and nurturing employee innovation. Smeal's Farrell Center for Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship, using software by Imaginatik, an idea management company, will help firms track and quantify the impact of employee "grass roots" innovation. The Launch of eBizSearch: The Next Generation Internet Search Engine

Can internet search engines keep up with the explosion of content on the Web? It is estimated that there are many billions of accessible pages on the Web, and the number of new pages each year is increasing rapidly. Experts estimate that the best of today's search engines can index or read only a small fraction of the Web and cannot keep up with this growth. Now, the eBusiness Research Center at Penn State's Smeal College of Business has developed eBizSearch, the next generation of specialized internet search engines that improves search results by more directly linking to specific research topics. http://www.smeal.psu.edu/news/releases/jan03/launch.html.
