Academic Advising Center
You are assigned an academic adviser throughout your time at Penn State. The Academic Advising Center is conveniently located in Suite 202 of the Business Building.
First-Year Seminar
The First-Year Seminar helps you learn about the University community and the Smeal College of Business. The course focuses on University life, business, leadership, ethics, diversity, and citizenship.
Smeal College Student Mentors
Peer mentors assist with academic and social adjustment to Penn State. They coordinate new student orientation, a course registration workshop, and run the College's annual Phon-a-thon, providing assistance to high school students accepted to the Smeal College.
Faculty Advising
Smeal College faculty are available to discuss career issues and course selection related to your interests in a specific major. As experts in their field, they are a valuable resource both inside and outside of class.
Student Organizations
Over 30 business student clubs and organizations are coordinated through the Smeal College. From business fraternities to advisory organizations, there is something for everyone.
Diversity Enhancement Programs
The Smeal College Diversity Enhancement Program levels the playing field for students of all backgrounds and beliefs. From advising to leadership development, you are prepared for the rigors of the academic community and an eventual career in business.
Internship Program
In addition to internships available through the University's Office of Career Services, the College has its own internship office. Annually, over 750 Smeal College students participate in internships nationwide.
Community Initiative
Students in the Smeal College of Business have the opportunity to work with local community businesses to find solutions to real business problems.

University Learning Centers
Tutorial labs in English writing, mathematics, language, and supplemental instruction are available to you.
Office for Disability Services
Provides access services for students with disabilities.
Learning Edge Academic Program (LEAP)
LEAP is a learning community program designed for freshmen who start in the summer. Students take two courses with a small cohort of students both in class and in the residence halls. They are also paired with a student mentor who aids in the transition to college.
Schreyer Business Library
The Schreyer Business Library serves the learning and research needs of the students and faculty in the Smeal College of Business.
Multicultural Resource Center
The Multicultural Resource Center (MRC) provides professional counseling and educational services for African/Black American, Latino/Hispanic American, Asian & Pacific American, and American Indian/Alaskan Native students.
