Bob Novack Gives Resume/Interview Workshop

A thank you goes to Bob Novack, who once again had standing room only at the resume/interview workshop sponsored by MISA, SCMA, and BASH. The workshop was held on January 29, 2008, the week before the SC&IS Career Fair, so students received valuable help in their preparations to meet with companies coming on campus. The students sat (or stood) taking notes and paying very close attention to Dr. Novack as he talked to them about proper interview etiquette, what to wear, how to answer certain questions as well as what questions to ask the interviewer. Some students took their resumes with them and made the correct changes themselves, while others gave their resumes to Dr. Novack to review before the career fair. All the students left being extremely prepared for the career fair the following week.

In addition to the resume/interview workshop, a coffee house was also held to prepare sophomores, juniors, seniors, MBA, and graduate students interested in employment, internship, and co-op opportunities in supply chain management for the career fair. The coffee house was a corporate information session with 20 minute concurrent sessions so students could attend four different sessions. Participating companies included Church & Dwight, IBM, ExxonMobil, Johnson and Johnson, Kimberly-Clark, Boeing, and Whirlpool.
A case study with Boeing is also being held during February and March in order to further the involvement of students with the corporate world.
