Major Troy D. Landry Joins SC&IS PhD Program

Major Landry graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration from Lamar University in May 1992. Upon graduation he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.

Upon completion of The Basic School in April 1993, he attended the Logistics Officers Course at Little Creek, Virginia. Lieutenant Landry's first tour was with Fifth Battalion, Eleventh Marines at Camp Pendleton, California from May 1993 to June 1996. There he served as the Battalion's Maintenance Management Officer and Embarkation Officer. From June 1996 to March 1997 he was assigned to the School of Infantry as the School's Logistics Officer.

Captain Landry reported to the Fourth Marine Division Headquarters, New Orleans, Louisiana in May 1997. There Captain Landry served in the G-3 as the Division Training, Exercise and Employment Plan (TEEP) Officer. He also served as the G-4 Operations Officer from May 1998 through May 2000.

From June 2000 to June 2002 Captain Landry attended the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California where he earned a Masters of Science Degree in Logistics. In August 2002 Major Landry was assigned to the Studies and Analysis Department, Marine Corps Logistics Command, Albany, Georgia as a Material Management Analyst. He deployed in February 2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Logistics Analyst with the Expeditionary Force Combat Assessment Team.

Currently Major Landry serves as a Marine Corps Logistics Fellow at Penn State University. Major Landry was promoted to his current rank in May 2002. His personal decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of second award.

Major Landry and his wife, Courtney, have one daughter, Haley.
