Also participating in the interaction were Gary Augustson, Vice Provost of Information Technology; Jim Thomas, Dean of Information Sciences and Technology; David Wormley, Dean of the College of Engineering; Judy Olian and Smeal faculty. Following the interaction session, President Spanier opened the Ribbon Cutting ceremony, followed by words from Bob Moffat and Dean Olian.

The facility is supported by IBM's Shared University Research program, which awards computing equipment to colleges, universities, and institutions of higher education around the world to facilitate research projects in areas of mutual interest.
