We are happy that you are learning more about Penn State's MMM degree; an award winning nine-month resident program with strong industry connections.
Manufacturing remains an important component of domestic and worldwide economic activity. Further, the demand is high for manufacturing managers who can communicate effectively, understand both management and engineering issues, and are up-to-date with lean and six sigma methods. The MMM degree provides you with this, in a Central Pennsylvania setting that offers a wonderful mix of outdoor, cultural, and social activities. We hope to see you here next year!

Student Body
The MMM degree program admissions policy assures that incoming classes are comprised of highly qualified individuals representing a diversity of backgrounds in terms of culture, prior education, undergraduate institution, work experience, and other academic and professional accomplishments.
Our incoming classes typically range from 30-40 students and are limited to a maximum of 45 students. Class sizes vary from year to year depending upon the number and quality of applications we receive.
Program Diversity
The business world stretches across oceans, time zones, and national borders. Because of this, diversity with a global perspective is ever-present in the MMM classroom. On average, the MMM class has been comprised of 40% women and minorities and approximately 35% of our students are from countries including China, Colombia, France, Greece, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, and Venezuela. Students work in teams and develop an understanding of the global impact of business and engineering.
Team Development
The manufacturing industry depends on successful teams in plant operations around the globe. Because of this, MMM students are organized into interdisciplinary teams working on project assignments across the curriculum. Team selections are made using criteria that results in a mix of student backgrounds, work experience, cultures, gender, etc. Students receive extensive team training, participate in team building exercises, and receive individualized leadership coaching.
Pre-Enrollment Visit
Interested persons are encouraged to visit Penn State's MMM degree program. To arrange a visit, contact the MMM degree program office at rle4@psu.edu or call 814-863-5802. During the fall and spring semesters, such a visit may include sitting in on a class and meeting students and faculty.
Admissions Policy
The MMM degree program is open to graduates of accredited colleges and universities. The admissions committee evaluates applicants on academic and professional potential and accomplishments, overall scores on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE), individual career goals, recommendations, and answers to application essay questions. Penn State is an affirmative action university, and the program is committed to attracting qualified applicants from traditionally underrepresented groups, including women and minorities.
