Internships
Internships are part of the entrance requirement. This outlines the importance of it and links to sample acceptable internship descriptions.
Internships
Minimum of three months work experience in an industrial or
production type setting is required. Work experience is a key in
preparation for MMM degree program studies at Penn State and for the
careers of its graduates. About one-fifth of the students enter the
program immediately after completing a bachelor's degree in
engineering, science, or business. These students must complete an
internship with a manufacturing company before entering the program if
they have no prior industrial experience in the form of co-ops or other
related experiences. Internships are typically completed over the
summer months before matriculation. Applicants with sufficient
industrial manufacturing related experience are exempted from the
internship requirement. These internships enhance the MMM graduate
education while providing an employer the opportunity to assess the
potential of the intern for a full-time position later. View acceptable internship descriptions.
