Virginia M. Tucker

Virginia received a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the State University of New York, a Masters of Business Administration from The Pennsylvania State University, and a Doctoral degree in Business Logistics, with a minor in Operations Management, also from Penn State.
In her administrative role, Dr. Tucker is responsible for an organization ranked among the world's best in executive education. Penn State Executive Programs works with businesses and governments around the world to aid these organizations and the individuals within them to be leaders in their competitive environments. This entails working with individual organizations to implement educational processes designed to aid in strategic transformations. It also involves offering open enrollment educational experiences designed to bring together members of multiple organizations to address management issues of mutual concern. Involved in establishing Penn State Executive Programs' international joint venture relationships, she recently has worked to create and teach in programs with the National University of Singapore, the Stockholm School of Economics and the Corporate University of Petroleos de Venezuela.
Dr. Tucker is active as a faculty leader in Penn State Executive Programs offerings, as well as programs offered by other organizations. She has taught in Latin America, Europe and Asia, and has worked with such organizations as ARAMARK, British National Health Service, Carpenter Technology Corporation, Conrail, DaimlerBenz, Deloitte & Touche/ICS, Digital Equipment Corporation, Ecolab, Harrisons & Crosfield plc, Hewlett Packard, the Navy Public Works, Petroleos de Venezuela, and the U.S. Army.
Before joining Executive Programs, Dr. Tucker worked for Corning, Inc. Her positions there were in marketing and in manufacturing.
Dr. Tucker's current research interests focus on executive development, educational processes and action learning; logistics; and strategic leadership. She has presented papers in these areas at many professional meetings and published articles in such journals as the Journal of Management Development and the Journal of Purchasing and Materials Management. She serves on the board of directors of Capstone, is a member of the board of UNICON (University Consortium for Executive Education) and past chair of the Conference on Management and Executive Education. Dr. Tucker is listed in Who's Who in Professionals, was the recipient of a National Association of Purchasing Management Doctoral Dissertation Research Grant and is a member of the Council of Logistics Management and the National Association of Purchasing Management.
