Who Should Attend
This program is designed for individuals responsible for coordinating efforts to align supply chain and organizational strategies, supply and demand, and supply chain and trading partners across multiple firms. It would also benefit those who manage key external resources that are essential to the success of any supply chain (e.g., transportation, warehousing, 3PL/4PL, information technology, etc.). The program is particularly useful for providers of logistics services who may choose to attend along with customers with whom they aspire to have better organizational alignment and improved business relationships. This is a required course for those pursuing a Professional Certificate in Supply Chain Leadership or Operations.

This program awards 1.5 CEUs. Penn State Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available based on a standard of one unit per ten hours of classroom instruction. Upon completion of this program, each participant will be awarded a certificate for 1.5 Penn State CEUs earned.

This is a required course for those pursuing a Professional Certificate in Supply Chain Operations. Participants must take two others from the topics below to complete the Certificate:
- strengthens the understanding of foundational concepts and the contextual knowledge to drive improvements in inventory management.
- provides an understanding of fulfillment operations from forecasting thru delivery.
- Introduction to Supply Chain Analytics a better understanding of the extent to which objectives are being achieved.
- Strategic Procurement and Purchasing develops knowledge of basic principles in purchasing and the drivers that create competitiveness.
- Transportation Operations and Sourcing covers methods to effectively manage transportation operations, source carriers and third party providers to reduce costs and improve service levels.
This is also a required course for those pursuing a Professional Certificate in Supply Chain Leadership. Participants must take these two other courses to complete the Certificate:
- Achieving Supply Chain Transformation covers the critical elements of adaptive supply chain management: strategy, people, process, IT, and assessment.
- Developing Strategic Supply Chain Leaders covers developing supply chain systems that support organizational strategy.
