Scott Bittler is a research vice president in the Business of IT Research Division, specializing in enterprise architecture, IT strategy and portfolio management. Mr. Bittler serves clients as advisor, coach, educator and workshop facilitator. He is also a speaker on enterprise architecture, IT strategy and portfolio management. Mr. Bittler has served clients across all seven continents, including more than 100 of the Global 2000 largest companies, as well as numerous government clients at all levels.

Mr. Bittler joined Gartner in April 2005 with the acquisition of META Group, bringing with him 20-plus years of IT industry experience. In May 1998, Mr. Bittler joined META Group in the relatively new Enterprise Planning & Architecture Strategies group, where he was instrumental in driving the success of this unit and establishing it as the world leader in its field. He has chaired two Government Enterprise Architecture Conferences.

Previously, Mr. Bittler held numerous engineering, engineering management and IT management positions at Corning, Inc., where he championed enterprise architecture efforts at the telecommunications division and corporate levels. In addition, he was instrumental in leading the division toward winning the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 1995.
