Logistics Transformation Management: Developing and Accelerating Logistics Change

The US Army Logistics Transformation Agency (Army LTA), in collaboration with the Penn State Executive Programs and the Center for Supply Chain Research (CSCR), has developed a groundbreaking, 5-day Logistics Transformation course to provide mid-senior level managers an in-depth overview of ongoing logistics transformation activities focusing on strategies for mastering change management.

Titled: "Logistics Transformation Management - Developing and Accelerating Logistics Change," the course leverages the considerable experience CSCR has accumulated working with both government and commercial sector clients. It is designed for Process and Product owner representatives, as well as individuals in supervisory, planning and management positions at the GS-14/15 or LTC/COL level.

The class is held three times a year in March, June, and October at Penn State located in State College, Pennsylvania. It is moderated by the Hon. Roger Kallock, Former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Logistics and Materiel Readiness), with speakers from the private, public, and academic sectors, and workgroup sessions focused on accelerating change.

Program Objectives:

  • Provide participants with a foundation in change management
  • Develop an understanding of the common threads in successful change
  • Hear from successful leaders in private industry who were faced with business transformation
  • Develop an appreciation and understanding for the importance of understanding ideas, commitment, communication, collaboration, and coalition building
  • Introduce attendees to the concept of supply chain management and discuss where the various Army business processes fit in the model
  • Engage participants in a discussion on technology applications in the supply chain
