On Friday from 8:45 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. the Powerful Women Paving the Way conference will feature a breakfast with keynote speaker, Rebecca Shambaugh.
Rebecca Shambaugh, President and CEO of SHAMBAUGH Leadership, is one of the pioneers in creating programs for the development of women leaders for corporate America and the public sector. She founded Women In Leadership and Learning (WILL) over 15 years ago which is known for its results focused programs, solutions, and best practices for advancing and retaining women leaders and executives. Rebecca and her organization took an innovative approach to developing women leaders that is not taught in leadership or business schools today. SHAMBAUGH’S flagship WILL program is known for its stellar results - 80% of the women who attend are promoted within less than a year after completing the program.
SHAMBAUGH partners with such organizations as IBM, Marriott, Booz Allen Hamilton, Ernst & Young, Microsoft, Bank of America, Johnson & Johnson, and Penn State University, providing their best practices and targeted solutions to further develop, advance, and retain top talented women leaders and executives. Rebecca is a member of The National Press Club. She is a sought after speaker, most recently presenting at Microsoft’s Leadership Conference for Women, The Conference Board’s Leadership Conference For Women, The National Academy for Women, Women In Bio Women’s Forum, Mortgage Banker’s Association National Conference, WITI’s West Coast Women’s Leadership Conference, Accenture’s International Women’s Conference, and the Linkage Women’s Leadership Summit. She has been showcased on PBS, USA Today, and NPR on her recent research, best practices, and solutions for women leaders. She has been featured in publications such as Leader to Leader, New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, Washington Business Journal, Fortune Magazine, Fast Company, Pink Magazine, Time Magazine, Computer World and Professional Woman’s Magazine. Rebecca is the author of a new book published in the Fall of 2007, It’s Not A Glass Ceiling, It’s A Sticky Floor (McGraw-Hill). Illustrating her unconventional approach towards women in leadership, the book draws upon SHAMBAUGH’s leadership programs for women and the thousands of speaking engagements and other educational events Rebecca has given around the nation for the past 15 years which focus on how women can get unstuck, empowered, move up, and prosper in their careers.
