Admission Process
* Effective October 1, 2009, the Real Estate department will not be recruiting or admitting students for Fall 2010.
Admission to a Smeal College of Business Ph.D. Program is highly competitive. You will be expected to have a strong academic background, a strong interest in doing research, and a career goal of obtaining a position as a professor at a leading business school. Your academic background will be assessed in terms of your grades in your previous college work. In addition, we will look at your GMAT or GRE scores for evidence that you are among the very best in terms of academic promise.
Ph.D. students receive 20 hour/week Research/Teaching Assistantships that include a tuition waiver, a student health plan, and a stipend for living expenses. There are also a limited number of scholarships and fellowships available. Please check with the Ph.D. adviser of the field you are interested in for the up-to-date information concerning the financial aid package. For estimated living expenses, check the information provided by the Bursar's office.
The admissions application and payment is online. Applications without fees cannot be processed. Please refer to the graduate school Web site http://gradsch.psu.edu/prospective/apply.html for the current application fee.
