Corporate Associates Program Adds Members

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (March 3, 2005)—Daimler Chrysler and Pulte Homes have joined the Corporate Associates Program at Penn State's Smeal College of Business, which connects corporations and Smeal students while providing students with networking opportunities and access to some of the country's leading employers.

"I think the Corporate Associates, students, and faculty involved in the program feel that they benefit in a variety of ways," said Jessica Sremanak, assistant director of Corporate Relations at Smeal. "Everyone involved gains something from the experience."

The new companies join a list of Smeal Corporate Associates that includes Air Products & Chemicals; Cigna Corporation; Ferguson Enterprises, Inc.; Foot Locker, Inc.; Johnson & Johnson; Kimberly-Clark; Macy's East; NVR; Owens Corning; PNC Financial Services Group; PPG Industries; Shell Oil; Towers Perrin; and Unilever.

Corporate Associates have access to traditional recruitment activities such as career fairs and interviewing, but also receive added on-campus visibility through access to 29 student organizations and assistance with planning on campus events. Each year, Corporate Associates contribute thousands of dollars to Smeal in support of a variety of programs and initiatives including scholarship assistance, research funding, special gifts, and sponsorship of many student and professional development activities.
