Xu Joins Operations Research Editorial Board

Susan Xu, professor of management science and supply chain management at Penn State's Smeal College of Business, has been appointed to the editorial board of Operations Research, a leading journal in the field.

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (January 17, 2006)—Susan Xu, professor of management science and supply chain management at Penn State's Smeal College of Business, has been appointed to the editorial board of Operations Research , a leading journal in the field.

Xu will serve on the board for three years as an associate editor, reviewing articles for publication and helping to attract the best research to the journal.

Operations Research , published bimonthly, serves the entire operations research community, including practitioners, researchers, educators, and students. Each issue offers a balance of articles that span the wide array of creative activities in operations research, ranging from computing and decision technology to policy modeling and public sector operations research.

Xu is currently the chair of the operations research dual-title degree program at Penn State. Prior to joining Smeal, she held faculty appointments at several institutions around the world, including the University of California at Berkeley, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technologies, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She also serves on the editorial board of the journal Probability in Engineering and Informational Sciences .
