Undergraduate Program Advances In U.S. News Ranking

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (August 22, 2005)—Penn State's Smeal College of Business ranks 18th overall and 11th among public business schools in the 2006 edition of U.S. News & World Report's "Best Undergraduate Business Programs" feature, part of the magazine's annual survey of America's best colleges and universities.

Smeal, which also ranked 4th in the nation in the specialty category of Supply Chain Management and Logistics, improved upon its 20th overall and 12th public ranking in last year's U.S. News report. The report is based on surveys of business school deans and senior faculty who are asked to rate the quality of programs with which they are familiar.

Smeal specialty areas ranked among the top 20 in the nation include:

Finance: 14th

Management: 9th

Management Information Systems: 20th

Marketing: 16th

Production / Operations Management: 12th

Real Estate: 12th

Supply Chain Management / Logistics: 4th
