Smeal Research Center To Host Workforce Conference

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (August 30, 2005)—The Center for Global Business Studies (CGBS) at Penn State's Smeal College of Business will host a conference Oct. 12 - 13 focusing on the changing workforce and the ramifications these changes will have on global companies.

"Workforce of the Future" will feature leading business and human resources experts discussing workforce markets, the aging workforce, outsourcing, and technology. The conference will convene at 8:30 a.m. in the Smeal College of Business' new Business Building on Penn State's University Park campus.

The conference will feature sessions entitled:

Changing Workforce of the Future

Impact of Information Technology on the Global Environment

Cultural Impact of Future Workforce

Health Care and Benefits in the New Business Environment

Future Trends of the Workforce

In-Sourcing, Outsourcing, and Telecommuting
