June Penn State Executive Forum Explores Leadership Perspectives
UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (April 29, 2005)—Three of the nation's top experts on leadership and financial markets from Penn State's Smeal College of Business will share their insights on strategic growth, driving shareholder value, and change leadership during the "Penn State Executive Forum: Perspectives on Leadership" on June 23 at Penn State's University Park Campus.
The forum will feature presentations by Donald Hambrick, the Mary Jean and Frank P. Smeal Chaired Professor of Management and Organization; J. Randall Woolridge, the Goldman Sachs and Co. and Frank P. Smeal Endowed University Fellow; and Albert Vicere, professor of strategic leadership.
The event, which begins with a reception and dinner on the evening of June 22, is the latest in a series of forums sponsored by Penn State Executive Programs. Each has been designed to provide business leaders from across the mid-Atlantic region with opportunities to interact with and learn from distinguished thought leaders while exploring today's most pressing business issues.

Donald C. Hambrick—Strategy Implementation: The Leadership of Change Hambrick is the author of numerous articles, chapters, and books on the topics of strategy formulation, strategy implementation, executive staffing and incentives, and the composition and processes of top management teams. His recent book, "Navigating Change: How CEOs, Top Teams, and Boards Steer Transformation," presents leading-edge thinking for executives who are embarking on corporate change initiatives. Another book, "Strategic Leadership: Top Executives and Their Effects on Organizations," is extensively used by scholars of executive leadership.
Albert A. Vicere—Aligning Strategy, Leadership, and Culture for Growth Vicere is president of Vicere Associates Inc., a consulting firm specializing in the design, development, and delivery of strategy, leadership and organizational development processes for clients around the world. Recently profiled as a "next wave guru" in leadership development by Business Horizons magazine and ranked among the top 50 leadership coaches in the world, Vicere is the author/editor of several books including "Leadership by Design: The Many Facets of Leadership." He has also written more than 80 articles on leadership development and organizational effectiveness.
J. Randall Woolridge—Market Valuation: Driving Shareholder Value Woolridge has expertise in corporate finance and investments with an emphasis on the valuation consequences of corporate strategic investment and financial decisions. He has published more than 35 articles in leading academic and professional journals, and the second edition of his popular stock valuation book, "The StreetSmart Guide to Valuing a Stock," was recently released. Woolridge has participated in executive development programs, seminars, and consulting activities for major corporations and financial institutions in 25 countries, and is a founder and a managing director of ValuePro.net, a stock valuation Web site.
