UNIVERSITY PARK, PA
(September 21, 2006) – A Smeal College of Business faculty member hosts
a new State College-area radio program, addressing leadership issues
and taking calls from listeners on workplace and management challenges.
Speaking
Confidentially, hosted by Kenneth Pasch, instructor in accounting and
management, airs on WBLF-AM at 11 a.m. on Fridays.
Pasch
started his radio show to reach a broader audience with his message
about how to be a better leader. He shares his expertise from his years
spent working to help individuals and organizations efficiently and
effectively accomplish goals as president of Ki Visions, a consulting
company that uses motivational speaking, seminars, and written
publications to help people live more satisfying work lives.
Each week on his show, Pasch addresses one or more leadership topics and then takes listener calls.
The
hour-long program is designed for anyone who has a job, aspires to grow
into a leadership role, or is already in one in their career. Pasch's
goal for the show is to help others accomplish their professional goals
and find enjoyment in the workplace.
"I don't know
everything," he admitted on the Sept. 15 program. "This show could be
called One Man's Educated Opinion, but, by talking with callers, we can
all learn something."
Callers are encouraged to ask Pasch
about challenges they are experiencing at their places of work, whether
they concern unfulfilling job duties, conflict with a coworker or
supervisor, or dealing with a difficult employee. He accepts calls—and
instant messages—on any work- or leadership-related topic, as long as
callers are constructive and don’t mention names. That's where the show
gets its title—Speaking Confidentially. By having callers speak
anonymously about their places of work and their coworkers, Pasch is
able to offer insight and advice without jeopardizing a caller's job
security.
Listeners in the State College area can tune in to
Speaking Confidentially every Friday at 970 AM. The program starts
after the news update at the top of the 11 a.m. hour. Listeners can
contact Pasch during the show at 814-272-9700 or on AOL Instant
Messenger on screen name WBLF970.
