Princeton Review: Smeal Among Top Ten for Facilities, Faculty
UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (October 5, 2009) – In the 2010 edition of its annual Best Business Schools guidebook, The Princeton Review ranks the Smeal College of Business MBA Program No. 5 on its list of "Best Campus Facilities" and No. 9 on its "Best Professors" list.
The Princeton Review compiled the lists based on school-reported data and on surveys of 19,000 students attending the 301 schools included in this year's guidebook.
The campus facilities ranking is based on student assessments of the quality of classroom, library, and gym facilities. The best professors ranking includes student ratings of how interesting and accessible they find their school's faculty.
The book does not hierarchically rank the schools overall; rather, it includes profiles of all 301 schools and eleven top ten rankings of schools based on particular attributes.
Smeal's profile in the guidebook gives the college high marks for its peer and alumni networks, "smart classrooms," and communications program. It quotes survey respondents as saying the college "facilitates a more personalized education" through "great access to professors and professional development opportunities."
The Princeton Review is a New York City-based education services company known for its test-prep courses, education programs, admission services, and 200 books published by Random House.
