UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (May 30, 2006)—After years of formal education—of classrooms, exams, lectures, presentations, and professors—graduation day began at Penn State's Smeal College of Business with a celebration hosted by Kenneth Lusht, interim dean.

Smeal's Senior Sendoff

Hundreds of students and their families attended Smeal's Senior Sendoff.

In honor of the Smeal Class of 2006, the college hosted the graduates and their families for a pre-commencement brunch, complete with flowers for all the moms (it was also Mother's Day) and a live band. With approximately 2,500 in attendance, the event was full of emotions—both celebratory and reminiscent.

"This event was a great way to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our students, and to honor the families who supported them throughout their time at Smeal," said Lusht.

A commemorative glass business card holder etched with the Smeal mark and class year was presented to each of the students.
