Gedrich To Assume Alumni Board Presidency
UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (May 13, 2005)—Alan Gedrich, a partner in the Investment Management Department of the law firm Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young, LLP in Philadelphia, will begin serving a two-year term as president of the Alumni Society Board for Penn State's Smeal College of Business in July. The president is responsible for setting the goals of the board, which are aligned with the college's strategic goals.
Gedrich, who graduated from Smeal in 1982 with a B.S. in accounting, counsels investment funds—including mutual funds, hedge funds, and private equity funds—as well as investment advisors on securities and corporate matters relating primarily to pooled investment products. He also represents clients in issues relating to all aspects of federal and state securities law, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate and commercial matters.
Gedrich also holds a J.D. from University of Pittsburgh Law School.
Additionally, Craig D. Womeldorf, president of Lancaster Threaded Products, Inc., has been named president-elect of the Alumni Society Board. He will serve under Gedrich for two years before becoming president in 2007. Womeldorf graduated from Smeal in 1987 with a B.S. in finance.
Smeal's Alumni Society Board helps build connections across the college through a variety of activities designed to engage current students, graduates, faculty, and friends. The board plays a role in overseeing new and existing alumni business clubs, building communication channels between alumni and college constituents, mentoring current students, and volunteering for various college initiatives.
