In open enrollment rankings, Executive Programs ranked 21st internationally (up from 23rd in 2001), 15th in the U.S., and 5th among public universities.
The rankings were released May 28, 2002, and are compiled from the responses of executive education course participants, corporate purchasers, and a survey of business schools.
"Penn State Executive Programs are designed by some of the best thinkers in academic research, consulting and business to build leadership talents, and to provide immediate value for sponsoring agencies through strategic project work. We develop targeted programs for the future executive leaders of our corporate clients, and we help them shape their competitive actions when they confront changing global markets and political crises," says Dr. Christopher von Schirach-Szmigiel, Associate Dean for Executive Education in Penn State's Smeal College of Business.
Penn State Executive Programs has been a leading deliverer of business education and best practices for nearly fifty years -- longer than almost any other program of its kind in the world. New expansions to its product portfolio will assure continued innovations for executives in their industries. Penn State Executive Programs are now rolling out 1 to 2 day seminars called "Hot Topics."
"Global events, technological advances, and breakthrough research in best practices impacts executives at all levels of responsibility. Sometimes the speed of change in business accelerates the need to know and react for managerial excellence. These 'Hot Topic' seminars will better serve the needs of our clients in this area," explains Schirach-Szmigiel.
The "hot topic" seminars allow the University to bring together experts from across academia, industry and government agencies, thereby creating a customizable platform made up of thought leaders to address issues relevant to the management of corporations and government organizations.
