Smeal EMBA Renews Philadelphia Venue Contract, Improves Facilities
UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (July 8, 2008) – The Smeal College of Business Executive MBA Program has renewed its contract with The ACE Conference Center in Philadelphia, keeping the program at the same convenient location while upgrading the facility to provide students with more comforts and amenities.
Beginning in August, the Smeal EMBA Program will convene in a new classroom at the ACE Center, designed to accommodate up to 52 students. New LCD monitors have been installed in all of the team meeting rooms, and the ACE Center's Internet access has been upgraded to T3 lines, one of the fastest broadband platforms available.
In addition to these academic setting improvements, the ACE Center is also making considerable enhancements to its living and social spaces. New pillow-top mattresses have been installed in all of the student guestrooms, and the venue's menu has been upgraded to one geared more toward executives, including being free of trans fats.
"We're very happy with the ACE Center because the facility provides our students, who travel on average about 100 miles to attend the program, with the high level of service they need to be comfortable and excel academically away from home," said Jake Ray, managing director of the Smeal EMBA Program. "Providing our students with a world-class business education includes having a first-rate facility, and that is what we have in the Ace Center."
Located on 300 acres just miles out of center city Philadelphia, the ACE Center is the ideal setting for the intensive weekends of the Smeal EMBA Program. Comfortable and modern facilities, including a fully equipped business center, are perfect for teaching, while the considerable leisure facilities—including an 18-hole golf course, pool, and various athletic courts—enable students and faculty to unwind and network outside of class. The ACE Center also features spacious living accommodations, award-winning cuisine, and is easily accessible.
