Leading Executive Career Adviser To Address Smeal EMBA Students

Leading Executive Career Adviser To Address Smeal EMBA Students

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (January 4, 2008) – Students in the Penn State Smeal College of Business Executive MBA Program today will hear from the chairman of a leading executive career advisory firm as part of the EMBA program's Executive Insights speaker series.

Nathaniel Stoddard, chairman of Crenshaw Associates, a Manhattan-based organization specializing in career advising for senior executives and their firms, will offer Smeal EMBA students tips and advice on how to succeed in executive job interviews.

As chairman of Crenshaw Associates, Stoddard serves as a career coach and "OnBoarding" adviser to a number of select executives.

Previously, Stoddard was president and CEO of World Kitchen, Inc., a leading manufacturer and marketer of kitchen products. From 1995 to 1999, he was chairman, president, and CEO of Camco Inc., Canada's largest manufacturer and marketer of major home appliances sold under General Electric brand names.

Stoddard has also served as vice president of several divisions of Black & Decker, and held positions in business planning and development and sales and marketing at Samsonite Corp., Beatrice Foods Corp., and Leigh Products Inc.

Stoddard holds a bachelor's degree from Denison University and an M.B.A. from the University of Denver. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot and as a Logistics Plans Officer in the Colorado Air National Guard.

His book Selecting the Right Executive for Your Company, published by John Wiley & Sons, is due to be released this year.

Stoddard is the first speaker for 2008 in the Smeal EMBA Program's Executive Insights guest speaker program, which brings leading executives, advisers, and career coaches to Philadelphia to interact with students and share experiences and insights from their respective fields.

Penn State alumna Kim Bennett, director of global advertising sales enrichment for Yahoo!, is scheduled to speak to Smeal EMBA students on Jan. 18.
